Make Roads Safe campaign ambassador Michelle Yeoh’s new documentary on global road safety will be broadcast worldwide on BBC World News on Saturday 2nd May.
The documentary, ‘Turning Point’ (the BBC version is titled ‘Dying To Go To School’) charts the film star’s journey of discovery as she learns the true scale of the hidden epidemic of road traffic injuries in developing countries. The film, shot over the course of a year in countries including India, Costa Rica, Malaysia, South Africa and Vietnam, investigates the neglect of road safety by the international community and governments, and unveils the impact of the daily carnage – 3500 people are killed every day – on victims and their families.
