With tens of thousands of people suffering death each year on roadways in the United States and over a million lives lost throughout the world each year on roads, it is imperative that we share best practices -- not only among the states, as we have coordinated through AASHTO in the United States, but also among nations, so we can ensure that the journeys that add quality to our lives and power our economies are safe ones.
