Rock legend Weller played two tracks, including Jam song ‘In the City’, with the band during a powerful set at the sold out Coronet. Earlier man of the moment comic Russell Brand introduced the band on stage.

Dirty Pretty Things lead singer Carl Barat and guitarist Anthony Rossomondo both paused to dedicate songs to three teenage fans killed in a road crash in July, during a set which included hit songs ‘Deadwood’, ‘Bang bang you’re dead’ and ‘Wondering’. Dedicating B.U.R.M.A to the girls, Carl Barat said "I just wanna remind you what this gig is all about. This goes out to Claire, Jennifer, Carla and their families who are in the audience tonight." A reviewer from the Independent newspaper described the gig as ‘a genuinely idealistic night’.

The band closed the evening with the Libertines classic ‘I get along’. Earlier, support bands Metroriots and, appropriately, the Rumble Strips, proved popular with the crowd. Between sets a Make Roads Safe film was shown on the big screen, while hundreds of people signed postcards to UK Development Secretary Hilary Benn MP urging him to do more to prioritise global road traffic injuries. Dirty Pretty Things also designed a special t-shirt for the gig, featuring the Make Roads Safe campaign logo.
